To further the econcomic package announced by the Government on 8th June 2020, the Minister of finance has launched The Electricity Bill Refund Scheme and the Rent Refund Scheme. Below is a summary of each scheme:
i) Electricity Refund Scheme
- Eligible entities for this scheme are those that have benefited from the Covid Wage suppliment (Annex A, Annex B and Annex C). Such eligible entities should receive an email from Malta Enterprise;
- The government will reimburse up to 50% of the electricity bill for the months of July, Aug and Sept 2020 depending on the number of outlets and number of employees as per the table below;

ii) RENT REFUND SCHEME
- Eligible entities for this scheme are those that have benefited from the Covid Wage suppliment (Annex A, Annex B and Annex C). Such eligible entities should receive an email from Malta Enterprise;
- Under this scheme the aid will amount to a full refund of the rental cost for 2020 provided that the rental agreement was entered into before 9 Mar 2020, was rented out from unrelated third party private individuals or companies and relates to a commercial property;
- The aid ceiling depends on number of rent agreements and number of employees in accordiance with the below table and can range from €2,500 to €7,500 per entity;
